IWB Buzzer. Games aid. Game tool. PowerPoint.

Here is an interactive Buzzer I made using the 'Family Fortunes' wrong answer sound clip. There is also a link to a multiple buzzer I found on the web which I use for team games in class with a student from each team up at the IWB answering questions. I also use this for the &'around the world&'; activity I run in class (see my blog for more info http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.com)
Random Name Generator

Random Name Generator

Here is a Random Name Generator I use with my classes (the one attached is for my Year 7 class). In order to use just change the names, class, my name etc and then hit F5 to run slideshow, names will automatically rotate until you hit 'S&' on the keypad for stop. Resume the slideshow by hitting &';P' (for play!)

ppt template for Lesson Objective and title

'Sky Sports News&' style pwoerpoint slide. Here is a powerpoint I have created to communicate to my classes their learning objectives, key words, homework, lesson aim etc all on one slide. I put this up at the start of some of my lessons as the class are coming in. The lesson aim scrolls across the bottom of the screen when the presentation is up. I use a &';slide master' for this ppt and so if you want to change the layout etc it will need to be done on the slide master!
Learning Task Generator

Learning Task Generator

I use the following ppt to generate the task my students will do in order to show their learning. i.e. if we were doing a lesson on percentages I would run the random learning generator, if 'do the task as a facebook page' came up the class would create a facebook page around percentages. There are 50 different tasks the students could do. Adds a bit of spontenaity to lessons and the kids love the randomness of the activities!

Mathematics Loyalty Cards

I made these loyalty cards earlier in the year to be used with Y11 classes revising for their GCSEs. Can be easily adapted for any subject/year group where you can offer rewards for improvement, enthusiasm and performance in your lessons.
Stuck-o-meter Display

Stuck-o-meter Display

Here's a Display idea I got from Jim Smith's 'Lazy Teacher Handbook'. The idea of the 'stuck-o-meter' is that it is stuck up in the classroom and students can post 'post-it' notes on it when they are stuck on a problem/activity/question etc. I then answer the questions as they are stuck on, or get other students to help if they know the answer to problem!
Mathematics Awards/Certificates

Mathematics Awards/Certificates

I have created these Mathematics Awards to give to my students following their recent GCSE Mock examinations. The idea is to give them these in an 'Award&'s Ceremony&'; type lesson when they get their marked papers back and fill in AfL tracker sheets etc. Easy to alter these for any subject/teacher (just get rid of my name). I run the ppt as a presentation in class, and print off the slides to give to students as certificates to take home.
Student's Individual Target Tracker

Student's Individual Target Tracker

Here is an Individual Target Tracker sheet I stick into the front of my student's ex. books. I get my classes to regularly set themselves targets based on my markings and feedback I put in their books. I then sign off their targets once they have evidence to prove where they have met them. I reward my classes when they have reached a target they have set themselves.
Fake 'Twitter' Page powerpoint

Fake 'Twitter' Page powerpoint

(1)
This is my fake class 'Twittter' page that I use once I have done a class 'Tweets' plenary. In the Class 'Tweets' plenary I get my classes to write in a Tweet (140 characters) on post-it notes something they have learnt during the lesson that they did not know previously. The class then stick their post-it notes on the IWB on the way out. I then type up their 'tweets' on to the powerpoint and show the class at the start of the next lesson to show the class what they learnt in their previous lesson
ABCD Plenary (or starter) Fans

ABCD Plenary (or starter) Fans

I have created a class set of 'ABCD Plenary Fans' to use as a plenary/starter in my lessons. I have uploaded the file I created to create the fans themselves. I printed and cut out enough of the arrows to double side them before laminating and then fastening with paper fasteners. Then, I created the multiple choice Plenary presentation to use with the fans - all you need to do is add in the questions and answers. See my blog post for more info http://mrcollinsreflectivejournal.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/abcd-fans.html

Takeaway Homework Menu - Mathematics

This is my 'takeaway homework' menu I give to my students. The pdf contains a ready to print version of the menu to give straight to students. The idea is that they choose any task to complete for their homework from the menu. I set these homeworks over a half term and students have to earn a set amount of 'chillies' in these weeks. On the ppt file I have an editable version of the menu for you to change my name etc to suit your students - this can then be printed as above. I also have many examples of work from my students to use for inspiration as to what can be created. There are also some display logos and ideas from my current display board in the word doc. See my blogs below for more details! http://goo.gl/hSj1ER http://goo.gl/s6YAln I love this approach to homework and so do my students.
